Every time I hear the lyrics from Eye of the Tiger, I get goosebumps and am instantly transported back to the strobe lights and 80s discos. Music has that kind of power, doesn’t it? We all know there’s a perfect song for every mood, and remembering lyrics can be a great way to train the brain, helping us rebuild memories and reconnect with joyful experiences. Music is more than just a melody; it’s a powerful tool for calming emotions, lifting spirits, and bringing us together. Care Packs presented to Mayo Oncology Patients:
Ballina Dragons Present Care Packs to Mayo Oncology Unit
Ballina, Co. Mayo – The Ballina Dragons, a dedicated community group known for their commitment to making a difference, have once again shown their support for those in need. On 15/11/2024, the group presented thoughtfully curated care packs to the Mayo Oncology Unit to provide comfort and encouragement to patients undergoing cancer treatment. The Dragons will deliver care bags to Inis Aoibhinn, Cancer Treatment Centre, Galway on 13th December 2025.
Each care pack contained carefully selected items, aimed at easing the journey for patients. The initiative was funded by the group’s fundraising efforts and generous contributions from Molloy’s Pharmacy and Ultra-Pure Labs.
“We know how challenging this time can be for patients and their families,” said Denise Swanick, spokesperson for the Ballina Dragons. “Our goal was to provide a little bit of comfort and show that the community is behind them every step of the way.”
The Mayo Oncology Unit staff expressed their gratitude for the thoughtful gesture. “These care packs mean so much to our patients,” said CMN. “They remind them that they are not alone in their journey and that the community is here to support them.”
This initiative reflects the Ballina Dragons’ ongoing commitment to paying forward with gratitude. Ballina Dragons are currently selling 2025 Calendars and their charity partners are Breast Cancer Ireland and recently were involved in ‘This is a Sign’ breast cancer awareness campaign, always with a focus on making a positive impact.
